I have been thinking about what to write and what do you know, it lands right in my lap. I have no idea if anyone will read this but I'm going to write it anyways.
I have never in my life been so depressed and so at peace at the same time. I understand that to be depressed and at peace seem to be a contradiction of terms so I guess I'll need to explain.
Today I went to drop off some film for processing that I shot last night for a local theater group. I was told that the only C-41 processing m…

Ok, so a young assistant district attorney, a vegan foot soldier from PETA and Ted Nugent are walking along a country road one beautiful afternoon when they all witness what seems to be a malnourished man shoot a Whitetail Deer out of season. Upon the arrival of the local Game Warden, all three witnesses are separated so that the officer could take statements from each without them being influenced by the others words.
Question 1) Would the chain of events given by each eyewitness match?
Quest…

First Man:
I think,
I think I am,
therefore I am,
I think.
Establishment:
Of course you are my bright little star,
I've miles And miles Of files
Pretty files of your forefather's fruit
and now to suit our
great computer,
You're magnetic ink.
First Man:
I'm more than that,
I know I am,
at least,
I think I must be.
Inner Man:
There you go man,
keep as cool as you can.
Face piles Of trials With smiles.
It riles them to believe
that you perceive the web they weave
And…

Today our church received the contractor bids for the church building we have been trying to build for many years. The general contractor assured us that this is the best bids he can offer even though it's $300,000. more than he projected and that we can afford.
We (Liberty Community Church) are a small congregation of God's people who wish to have a place that we can call home, yet local government regulations as well as changes in building codes cost us years and have clouded our path to our…

ALBANY, Ore. - At the Oaks Apartments in Albany, the management can fly their own flag advertising one and two bedroom apartments - but residents have been told they can't fly any flags at all.
Jim Clausen flies the American flag from the back of his motorcycle. He has a son in the military heading back to Iraq, and the flag - he said - is his way of showing support.
"This flag stands for all those people," said Clausen, an Oaks Apartment resident. "It stands for the people that can no longer…

I like the fact that Obama is not found in my spell checker, and that I get to select the "Ignore" button to proceed.
Obama has his hands full because he has a history of being a professional candidate. A "present" vote from the White House will not help his re-electionion campaign that I believe will start the day after his inauguration. Therefore, he will finally have to show the cards he has been hiding for all these years.
Pray!
God bless,
Dennis

This is a short reply I added to a post about not judging others and being accepting and tolerant of everyone;
Ironically, the definition of an opinion is,
a judgement formed about something, not necessarily based on fact or knowledge.
For one to accept another without judgement, personal interaction and or prior knowledge must be avoided. If I see something I regard as beautiful, I am making a judgement. If I smell something wonderful, I am making a judgement. If I taste something swee…

If given an opportunity to go back in your own life and change one decision, what would it be? Before you answer, let us set some rules.
When entering that time in your life, you will have no concept of the consequence of the decision, one way or the other. Nor would you be able to know anything beyond what you knew at that time. So basically, you just make a different choice.
The other issue is that your life now will be different because you went back. It may be better, it may be worse. You…

If I were to create a product that filled a worthwhile task and take it to market, people would buy it. Let's also say, that product did in fact performed the task, but not very well. People would still buy it.
Then a competitor decides to manufacture a similar product and save what was useful from mine, and redesign it so that it worked better. Put on the market and again, people would buy it.
Each generation of the product improves upon the other. Yet there will always be those that have no…

In my opinion, we often focus too much on our fears associated with danger, but not enough on those from indiscretions. Fears related to sensation are quite different from those based on emotions, and it is the emotional fears that may cause us the most lasting scars.
Grabbing the handle on a hot pan leads to knowledge, using a hot pad comes from wisdom. Fears can be found before or after knowledge, but are not often found after wisdom. Assumption can at times replace knowledge, I assume that i…

I agree that anyone can make their life better. But there are those that choose to make themselves feel better by finding friends with bigger problems so theirs don't seem so bad.
This also works with intelligence, it's easier to find dumber friends than it is to educate yourself.
I myself, will never ever dumb down. In fact, my goal is to be the dumbest of all my good friends.
Most often life's hardest route is the best and lasting route. Choose to be better, and not just make yourself feel…

If you use a black and white analogy then you can say gray is the variable that falls in-between. Gray becomes opinion because it carries varying amounts of fact and fiction. The shade of gray depends upon the amounts of fact and fiction used to create the shade.
Ultimately, given two reasonable adults within a conversation where each posses different shades of gray. The results of your conversation can only be a variation to each persons shade. Let's say I'm dark gray and you're light gray. If…

The accepted real world analogy is that a coin has two sides, but does it? Let me explain.
We know that in Euclidian geometry a circle has no thickness, therefore it can be defined by only using a position and radius. By escaping the plane and creating a volume, we escape x,y and we enter x,y,z geometry. Once the circle moves an arbitrary distance let's say .0000000000000000000000000001 mm, it then obtains thickness and point of view becomes a factor. Let's define surface [a] and surface [b] th…

"For with much wisdom comes much sorrow; the more knowledge, the more grief.
You may have heard the saying (it is not a Bible verse), "When God shuts a door He opens a window" can be interpreted several ways. To me it means that God may allow a reduction of options, but He never eliminates them. You could look at the situation as being trapped by the door, yet the open window still offers a way out. The open window may not be the easiest way, but it offers a choice. Stay and feel punished and t…

My response to; Do you believe in aliens?
Is it possible?
Yes. Is it probable? No. Being a Christian, there are things that I know, things that I don't know, and there are the things that I believe because of faith. I will not attempt to say that I know what God intended when He created such a HUGE universe, while making us so small. I am one that believes that I would limit God, if I were to state that we are the "only" ones, but we may be. Is it arrogant to say that God created the uni…

There are already 300+ members here after only a few days. That is a testament to Bryant and his vision. But, I do wish that more of the members would write though.
I'm sure that many are just finding out what the site is about and as it matures more will start posting here. I love to read what members are doing in their lives and really get to know them.
God bless,
Dennis

The Large Hadron Collider went on-line September 9th at 10:28 after 14 years of preparation and $10 billion. The particle accelerator is the biggest, most expensive science machine on earth, designed to probe mysteries ranging from dark matter and missing antimatter to the existence of extra, unseen dimensions in space.
It is theorized that the collider will confirm the existence of the Higgs boson, the observation of which could confirm the predictions and missing links in the Standard Model,…
