Must reads

I'll start this off with a series I discovered this summer.

Laurell K. Hamilton's been around for years, but I'd only read one book by her till this summer, when I read the first book in her Anita Blake series. I zoomed through 11 books in the series in a matter of three weeks. lol

Anita Blake is a vampire hunter with [very] mixed feelings about her prey. The series grows increasingly erotic the farther you get into it; not for those who prefer closed doors regarding sexual activity. The series is dark, but not depressing.

Anita Blake is one of the strongest heroines I've encountered in fiction, both in terms of her character and with regard to the author's attention to making her multi-faceted, flaws and all.
